Summary

Post-doctoral fellow for vision science molecular biology research lab to perform experiments, analyze data, and write manuscripts. Lab is focused on retinal pigment epithelial cell dysfunction in inherited retinal diseases.

Responsibilities*

  1. Performing lab experiments, including cell culture, protein and nucleic acid isolation, quantification, and analysis, immunofluorescence, microscopy, and other techniques.

  2. Performing mouse studies, including managing breeding and genotyping, tissue collection and analysis by histology, and protein isolation and analysis, and ocular imaging studies.

  3. Analyzing data, trouble shooting, and presenting at lab meeting.

  4. Presenting at institutional and national and international conferences as appropriate.

  5. Assisting in manuscript writing, preparation, and submission.

Required Qualifications*

  • Either an MD or PhD degree.

  • Previous lab experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and mouse experiments.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Previous publications in basic science vision research.

Background Screening
