Amazon U.S. Distribution Manager, Amazon MGM Studios Distribution in Beverly Hills, California

Amazon MGM Studios Distribution (AMSD) is seeking a highly skilled and analytically-minded individual for the role of U.S. Distribution Manager. This position will be responsible for growing the U.S. Distribution business by developing and implementing key account planning and management processes for Amazon MGM Film and TV content across AVOD, SVOD, Broadcast, and Basic Cable Licensing. The ideal candidate will spearhead our efforts by leveraging data to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and formulate strategic plans to optimize content, deal, and marketing strategy.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, including Licensing, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, to align distribution strategies with overall business objectives, such as optimizing workflows and processes that will support the growth of the U.S. Distribution business at scale (across AVOD, SVOD Broadcast, and Basic Cable).

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of distribution strategies and identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintain reporting tools, build out customized views and partner with Licensing lead to build programming calendars.

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within the digital distribution space.

  • Monitoring and optimizing digital distribution performance through ongoing analysis.

  • Analyzing market data and consumer insights to identify opportunities for growth.

  • Developing and presenting strategic recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.

  • Collaborating with Licensing lead to prioritize digital distribution opportunities.

  • Providing guidance and support to team members on project execution and problem-solving.

About the team

Amazon MGM Studios Distribution oversees the licensing of Amazon Studio’s titles, as well as MGM new release and library movies and series such as film franchises James Bond, Rocky and Creed, and series The Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, and Fargo.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in digital distribution, content licensing, or related fields within the entertainment industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market insights.

  • Strong understanding of digital distribution platforms, business models, and industry trends.

  • Experience working with major AVOD/SVOD/Cable companies or Post-Theatrical Distribution at a Studio.

  • Passion for film and television content with a deep understanding of audience preferences and viewing behaviors in the digital landscape.

  • Track record of developing and executing successful digital distribution strategies that drive revenue growth.

  • Adaptability and resilience to quick changes in priorities, tools, workflow, and technology.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

  • Knowledge of Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLookups) at an advanced level.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $158,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
