OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Cybersecurity Cloud Architect will have an assigned portfolio through architecting and designing comprehensive solutions to meet product needs. They'll work collaboratively with senior leadership to create solutions that align to architecture standards and principles, leveraging common solutions and services, while meeting financial targets.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish technology vision for cloud architecture, security, adoption and migration.

• Provide guidance and direction on the secure design, building, testing and deployment of cloud based solutions and designs.

• Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to establish business drivers for cloud adoption and determine corresponding solution designs

• Collaborate with engineering teams to build golden paths for cloud migration and adoption

• Lead the creation of enterprise standards and evaluate the quality and compliance of delivered cloud based solutions to ensure alignment with those standards.

• Advise and collaborate with stakeholders on strategic initiatives and participate in cross-team Agile ceremonies and senior leadership forums.

• Apply cybersecurity, technology, and risk principles to standards to ensure proposed solutions are compliant.

• Design and drive the implementation of a secure network architecture across cloud environments

• Design, configure, deploy and maintain security tooling, services, automations and infrastructure

• Objectively evaluate and lead the resolution of cloud architecture problems in partnership with domain subject matter experts.

• Mentor less experienced architects working on cloud solutions and lead cross-project technical issues and resolution.

• Harness existing technology resources through collaboration to benefit solutioning efforts.

• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Be a visionary and a thought leader for the enterprise regarding emerging technologies and trends to determine their benefit on a technology domain.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 year's higher education and/or relevant work experience

• Strong cloud native and DevOps software or service engineering and delivery experience

• Deep knowledge of new and emerging cloud native technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies for strategic use

• Experience in solution architecture with the ability to articulate designs at an enterprise/visionary level.

• Expert experience as a software practitioner, developing software and applications

• Expert experience with multiple programming languages

• Strong experience in building solution architecture design that meets policies and standards

• Experience with designing, developing and integrating applications with relevant software architecture principles and patterns

• Experience collaborating, communicating and presenting to executive level stakeholders

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

• 10+ years cloud native and DevOps software or service engineering and delivery

• 3+ years hands-on experience in DevSecOps

• 5+ years experience in cloud native solution architecture with the ability to articulate designs at an enterprise/visionary level.

• 10+ years experience as a cloud native software practitioner, developing software and applications

• 5+ years as engineering/architecture lead in cloud native and agile environment and organizations

• Graduate degree in technical discipline

• Experience in cloud first delivery and architecture organizations driving the strategy and vision

• Experience in delivering cloud native technology or conference-level presentations.

• Experience working cloud native Agile environment

• Industry recognized certification in programming languages and/ or cloud technologies

• Industry recognized certification in technology and architecture domains will be an added plus

• Experience working in the financial services industry

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $154,629.62 - $257,716.03 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
