Job Summary

Join Trane Technologies as a Manufacturing Engineer in Charlotte, NC at our Compressor & Motor Remanufacturing Facility. In this role, you will operate innovative engineered systems and develop, coordinate, and implement sustainable manufacturing production processes. Your cross-functional team will be focused on delivering quality, safety, and operational efficiency improvements.

What you will do:

• Works with compressor engineering as needed and performs research to determine motor configurations for remanufacturing.

• Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods for Trane Hermetic motors.

• Provide timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems, including investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.

• Create cost-effective and safe manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools to improve manufacturing operations.

• Design manufacturing flow lines, workstation layouts, and station controls that optimize efficiency, operating costs, and product quality in accordance with Lean principles.

• Uphold manufacturing standards including machine capability, process maps, set-ups, quality controls, tooling and fixture records, routings, and cycle times.

• Generate work instructions, job breakdowns, and standardized work to ensure quality at the source meets product and manufacturing specifications given local needs.

• Serve as a voice of the customer for input for new design development.

• Partner with on-site EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).

• Identifies needs and proposes elements to be included in the annual Capital Plan and coordinates implementation of projects in the facility.

What we expect of you:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines

• Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design

• Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships

• Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset

• Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus

• PFMEA experience preferred

• Experience with MS Office (primarily Excel) is required.

• Experience with Oracle, Windchill, AutoCAD, or Inventor preferred

• Previous experience with electric motors and compressors is highly desirable
