Amergis Healthcare Staffing is currentlyseeking highly skilled Registered Nurse for the 2024/2025 School Year.

Position Details:

· ContractLength: 36 weeks

· Numberof Openings: 5

· ShiftLength: 35 hours

· Shifts: AM

· StartDate: 07/24/24

Compensation:

*Total Pay Package = $1,575/wk

· HourlyRate: $45.00

Based upon qualifying for position and allowances. Total packageis inclusive of taxable wages and allowances

TheSchool Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application ofthe nursing process and the delivery of student/client care and/or contractedservices in a school setting. The School Nurse may also be in a supervisoryposition within the contracted services. The School Nurse provides services inaccordance with Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies andphysician orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluate student’s care needs

  • Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skill nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders/IHP

  • Performs interventions, treatments and medications administration according to the identified priorities as outlined in the IHP

  • Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions, treatments and medications

  • Completes documentation per client expectations

  • Coordinates and facilitates services as requested between the school, local health agencies and other community resources to meet the needs of the student

  • Communicates with the school district personnel about student’s plan of care/IHP

  • Notifies District School Nurse/Amergis Supervisor /Parent/Physician as outlined in the IHP regarding the following:

    Changesin condition of student

    Physician notification to obtain necessaryorders

    Collaborates with school/educationpersonnel/other health agencies as requested, to design and meet student’shealth care needs

    Evaluates and assures student safety at alltimes

    Adheres to Amergis Healthcare and schooldistrict policies

    Maintains accuracy in student health record

    Supports professional practice by observingthe following:

    Nurse Practice Act

    Standards of Nursing Practice

    Standards of Patient Care

    Standards of accrediting body (The JointCommission)

    State laws

    Educational Codes and Federal Laws asdescribed in the ADA and IDEA

    Patient Bill of Rights

    Amergis Healthcare and school districtpolicies

  • At request of school district participates in student care conferences/Individualized Education Program (IEP)

  • LPN/LVNs should direct questions regarding orders and changes in condition to a Supervising RN (DN and/or Clinical Supervisor)

  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

  • One year of professional experience, preferred

  • Complies with accepted professional standard and practice

  • Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program

  • Current CPR

  • PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
