**OhioMeansJobs-Cleveland Cuyahoga County(OJT) is sourcing for a Field Sales Representative-Renewables

Job Summary: **

Responsible for selling the organization's Solar and EV products and services (Renewables) by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects in domestic markets.  This intermediate sales position requires a broad knowledge of the organization's services, products and marketing techniques and requires sales experience.

Essential Functions:

  1. Determines which key accounts offer the most potential for sales increase.
  2. Determines where the buying influences are.
  3. Establishes account coverage at the identified accounts.
  4. Coordinates routine and effective sales calls on the identified buying influences.
  5. Coordinates all product field trials and product demonstrations with the customer.
  6. Coordinates activities at trade shows including lead retrieval and follow up.
  7. Resolves all customer complaints regarding products or services.
  8. Assists finance department by contacting delinquent customer accounts when required.
  9. Coordinates effective working relationship with Distributor sales networks.
  10. Assists with identifying and investigating new product opportunities with customers.
  11. Works with Product Management and R&E as required to investigate market or product issues with customers.
  12. Effectively monitors period expenses and product samples.
  13. Provides sales forecasts when required.
  14. Communicates through timely trip reports or territory updates as required.
  15. Works to understand the markets to which PLP sells and promotes its products and how PLP products are used by its customers.
  16. Travels and works with other sales personnel to learn more about how PLP promotes and sells its products.

Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.   Sales courses or college degree desired

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • Not applicable to position.
  • Required Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of previous successful field sales experience, outside plant construction experience, and/or engineering related experience preferably in the markets PLP serves.
  • Computer Skills:
    • Ability to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Ability to travel a minimum of 30-40% of the time.
  • Other Qualifications/Requirements or Skills:
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written situations involving internal personnel, manufacturing reps and customers and possesses a diplomatic approach to problem solving.
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and ability to perform strenuous work as required to demonstrate product installations in solar, guyed tower, metal building, arborist and agricultural applications.

    • Must posses a valid driver's license and comply with the provisions of PLP's

             auto program.

  • Must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
