R10044063 Staff Accountant (Open) Location: Independence, OH - Rockside Woods Blvd - Management - AMG-Corp How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller's organization at the North Division's Business Support Center (BSC). The position has the following major areas of responsibility: financial accounting and reporting, including month-end close processes; general ledger account analyses and reconciliations; preparation and posting of journal entries; internal reporting requests related to Division branches and Corporate; fulfilling requests related to internal/external audit and other ad hoc analyses and special projects. This role will work closely with other members of the Division Accounting department, Division Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), North Division Regional Finance departments and the Central Accounting Group ("CAG"). In particular, you will: Responsible for month-end procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries. Completes general ledger account analysis, research and preparation of bank and account reconciliations. Assists with the preparation of reports and other information related to internal requests from the Division/branches as well as Corporate. Assists with the preparation of reports to fulfill information requests from external and internal auditors. Completes monthly sales review for assigned Region. Thoroughly investigate all issues and clearly document findings for review. Ensure all revenue and COGS are recognized in accordance with Airgas policy and GAAP. Ensures compliance with the Company's financial policies/procedures. Maintains internal accounting controls that are consistent with Company requirements/Sarbanes-Oxley. Act as liaison between the regional financial analysts and the Division accounting team. Special projects and other duties as assigned. __Are you a MATCH? Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
