Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist, HUMVEE (QAS, HP), or HMMWV, High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, ensures the platform is safe and reliable. Performs duties to direct maintenance personnel to inspect beyond the point of trouble or fault detection in support of customers’ expectations. This position will develop Additional Authorized Inspection and Maintenance (AAIM)actions, beyond preventative maintenance checks and service task, to be performed by maintenance staff. The HUMVEE platform is inspected for various aspects, such as proper assembly of the vehicle’s components, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to quality control protocols established by the customer.

Job Responsibilities:

• The QAS, HP inspects the maintenance and assembly of the platform for tactical equipment needed for maneuvering and supporting units in situational environments. Also, this position inspects the body of the platform in comparison of like equipment.

• The QAS, HP examines mobility of the HUMVEE platform and conducts safety inspections; pre-, during- and post-operation checks, IAW technical manuals and locally developed AAIM.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.

• Knowledge of inspection, test, and measurement techniques in HUMVEE Platform.

• Strong critical reasoning, decision-making and problem solving skills to analyze situations.

• Organizational skills and attention to details to handle multiple tasks, short deadlines, frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities in support of changing situations.

• Understand Quality Systems and/or regulated training requirements.

• Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

• Valid Driver’s License.

• Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation and obtain a CAC / High School Diploma / GED

Desired Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree

• Certificate in quality assurance

Physical Demands:

• Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

• Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
