Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Specialist provides immediate support to the mission in monitoring activities with MHE processes to ensure overall compliance with the established Standing Operating Procedures, as well as all applicable local, state, federal requirements. This role will ensure compliance to training needs, SOPs, processes and other regulatory or company directives are adhered in order to support the operations and quality requirements for business operations. The Quality Assurance Specialist, Material Handling Equipment (QAS, MHE) maintains and implements controls for hazards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents inspection results, hazard assessments, training, etc.

  • Identifies gaps and opportunities, improves performance, and promotes compliance

  • Communicates the expectations regarding safe operating procedures and behaviors

  • Monitors and enforces safety procedures to ensure the employees understand the safety aspects of their MHE, such as the relevant manuals and standards

  • Ensures MHE operators are fully trained and experienced

  • Maintains clean efficient work environment

  • Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures

  • Conducts routine internal procedure and documentation audits, as applicable

  • Creates a safe environment for moving goods, minimizes or eliminates pedestrian traffic on loading docks

  • Ensures that all lighting is functioning and sufficient for the tasks at hand, and that occupancy sensors trigger lighting promptly

  • Employs proper lockout and tagout procedures for machinery and equipment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 year experience in quality assurance or a similar field

  • Knowledge of inspection, test, and measurement techniques in material handling equipment

  • Strong critical reasoning, decision-making and problem solving skills to analyze situations

  • Organizational skills and attention to details to handle multiple tasks, short deadlines, frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities in support of changing situations

  • Understand Quality Systems and/or regulated training requirements

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain a CAC

  • High School Diploma / GED

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree

  • Certificate in quality assurance

Physical Demands:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
