Job Summary

Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to work in Ft Cavazos, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Job Responsibilities:

  • In this specialty, the Quality Assurance Specialist, Power Generation Equipment (QAS, PGE), supervises and inspects maintenance and repairs on tactical utility, power-generation equipment, internal combustion engines, and associated equipment in mobile and stationary power plants.

  • The QAS, PGE reads complex wiring schematics and diagrams, and repairs electrical components.

  • The QAS, PGE performs preventive maintenance checks on generation equipment, or replaces voltage regulators, governors, or circuit cards. The QAS, PGE may also inspect/adjust frequencies and voltages using technical publications to enhance equipment efficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of Generator and powerplant operations

  • 10 years of Electrical generation and distribution

  • 10 years of Diesel generator operation, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance

  • Knowledge of principles of electrical and electronic circuitry

  • Normal color vision (no colorblindness) is required

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain a CAC.

  • High School Diploma / GED

Desired Qualifications:

  • MOS 91D experience

  • Experience using hand and power tool

  • Interest in electricity and working with heavy machinery.

Physical Demands:

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

  • Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.
