TAD PGS, Inc. Electrician in Greensburg, Indiana

We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for anElectricianto join a leading Company located in theGreensburg, INsurrounding area.

In a safe, efficient, and professional manner the Electrician will support the Facility Maintenance Team in the preventative, corrective, and general maintenance of plant systems for the client. Other duties include, but not limited to, daily assessments of systems, assisting other trades in performing general equipment maintenance and repair, maintaining a clean working environment, and other various duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Manager, while adhering to all safety and health standards. The Electrician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs facility electrical distribution systems, lighting systems, apparatus and devices. Has extensive knowledge of motor and motor controls, variable frequency drives, plc controllers, and power distribution systems. Should be familiar with low voltage and fire alarm systems. Uses guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations, and standard practices. Wears PPE and ARC Flash equipment while performing live troubleshooting evolutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and understand system blueprints, specifications, and performance data to determine the configuration and purpose of system components such as compressors, motors, pumps, fans, switches, controls, ducts, or pipes

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and building equipment. Connects power supply wires to machines and building equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.

  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires, cables, and fuses.

  • Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components.

  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, sensors, motors, and position sensing devices.

  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Performs preventative maintenance tasking on electrical and mechanical equipment.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

  • High School Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.

  • Successful completion of the Electrical Apprenticeship Program or graduate of a certified technical school and achieved Journeyman status.

  • Training in motor and motor controls, variable frequency drives, and PLC / BMS controls.

  • Ability to read complex wiring diagrams, identify electrical components, and have extensive knowledge in troubleshooting control circuits.

  • Must be well-versed in the use of voltmeters, amp meters, ohm meters, meggers, and amp probes.

  • Business Experience.

  • Five to seven years related experience in a manufacturing facility.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Journeyman Card.

  • Local License if applicable by local jurisdiction.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

  • Trained in NFPA 70E, Aerial Lift / Boom Lift Certified.

  • Candidates will possess an intermediate knowledge of computers and software.

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Project, Email and Intranet use, and JDE/Maximo CMMS are required.

  • Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and solutions to practical situations.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Understand business implications of decisions; treat people with respect; inspire the trust of others; follow policies and procedures and support the organization's goals and values.

  • Associate must have experience and abide by OSHA guidelines including Lock-out/Tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in the face of the customer and subordinates.
