Job ID360614 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Support Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code7352P3 Employee Class About the Job The Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research (MCTFR) seeks to hire one ABCD Site Coordinator (7352P3: Researcher Professional 3) responsible for executing all tasks associated with the ABCD (Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development) protocol which include eighteen neurocognitive assessments and seventy interview or self-report instruments designed to assess eligibility criteria, psychopathology, medical health, parental/peer/romantic relationships, impulsivity/temperament/personality, and nicotine/alcohol/drug use. In addition to these responsibilities, the ABCD Site Coordinator will review data to assure quality, will provide the study PIs with regular reports, and will transfer data to the ABCD Informatics Center. Day-to-day supervision, scheduling, and monitoring of a several ABCD Research Assistants and Undergraduate Students is required. This individual will work closely with the ABCD research participants assessing complex psychological traits so required qualifications include: a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field, as well as a flexible work schedule (evenings and weekends), and the ability to work onsite at the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR) and Elliott Hall. Preferred qualifications include: ABCD or MCTFR research experience, knowledge of the RedCap data management system, a prior lab leadership role, and outstanding communication and problem-solving skills. Major Responsibilities (10%) Recruits Research Participants: ABCD Site Coordinator contacts study participants; describes study goals, assessment tasks, confidentiality limitations and potential risks; plus schedules assessment appointments. Obtains informed consent; Answers participant questions and conducts a family de-briefing at the end of the visit; Maintains required recruitment and assessment documentation; Supervises the implementation of emergency protocols and implements strategies to manage unforeseen and unique circumstances that arise. (40%) Interviews Research Participants: Completes in-person, phone, and remote video conference assessments semi-annually, annually and bi-annually. Conducts clinical interviews and self-report surveys in-person, via remote video conference, and via phone; Conducts neurocognitive assessments; Runs participants through the mock MRI scanner. (10%) Collects NeuroHealth Data from Research Participants: Collects biosamples (saliva, hair, breath, urine and other possible biosamples, and assists in collection of blood draws) as required by ABCD protocol. Collects MRI data including operator training, safety training and participant safety screens. Gets Principal Investigator and CMRR approvals when required. Attends monthly CMRR meetings for 3T-C Magnet to resolve use and operation issues. (25%) Acts as a Liaison between ABCD Team and PIs, ABCD Coordinating Center and Data Analysis and Informatics Center: Communicates and implements Principal Investigator (PI) directives with four ABCD RAs. Analyzes data and prepares reports for Principal Investigators and other research staff. Primary contact with ABCD Coordinating Center (CC); Implements CC standard operating procedures (SOP); Coordinates annual CC site reviews; Contributes material to SOPs; Works closely with CC liaison. Primary contact with ABCD Data Analysis and Informatics Center (DAIC); Assists with the implementation of ABCD IT, RedCAP, PII Database as directed by the DAIC; Takes responsibility for data cleaning projects requested by the DAIC; Works closely with DAIC liaison. Communicates with other ABCD sites' (22) Site Coordinators to improve operations at the UMN site, weekly coordinator meetings. Participates in ABCD Coordinating Center Train-the-Trainer sessions at UCSD. (15%) Supervises ABCD Team: Performs supervisory responsibilities related to hiring, performance review, w rk assignment, grievance adjustment, discipline and suspension of four ABCD RAs and three undergraduate students. Monitors assessment scheduling and assessment staffing. Tracks and approves absence requests in the HR system. Trains other ABCD Team members and evaluates readiness to execute assessment protocol. Monitors progress towards goals and reports progress at MCTFR Executive and ABCD meetings. Member of the MCTFR Executive Committee Organizes and leads weekly staff meetings with the full team and assessment staff. Qualifications Essential Qualifications BA/BS plus at least 4 years of experience or advanced degree plus 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal 8 years. Required to work evenings and weekends with ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule. Ability to work on-site at the Center for Magnetic Resonance (CMRR) and Elliott Hall. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Experience with ABCD or MCTFR assessment protocol. Prior research experience with leadership in a lab, interviewing research participants, conducting structured clinical interviews, neuropsych tests and collecting biosamples - including drawing blood and MRI assessments. Knowledge of RedCap data entry, management and reporting tools. Excellent verbal communication skills. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail to work independently and assure accuracy. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to improve performance by analysis of data, tracking progress and making work adjustments when needed. About the Department MCTFR/ABCD The Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research seeks to identify environmental and genetic influences on psychological traits. Focusing on adolescent children and their parents, the MCTFR includes studies of twins, adoptees, and biologically related adolescent siblings. MCTFR participants are involved in a variety of projects including: assessment of psychopathology, psychophysiology and collection of DNA samples in collaboration with the National Institute of Health's Genetics Consortium. The ABCD Study Consortium is a collaborative effort of 19 sites across the US that will seek to address many questions related to substance use and development that will help inform prevention and treatment research priorities, public health strategies, and policy decisions, including: (1) What is the impact of occasional versus regular use of marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, and other substances, alone or in combination, on the structure and function of the developing brain; (2) How does the use of specific substances impact the risk for using other substances; (3) What are the brain pathways that link adolescent substance use and risk for mental illnesses; (4) What impact does substance use have on physical health, psychological development, information processing, learning and memory, academic achievement, social development, and other behaviors; (5) What factors (such as prenatal exposure, genetics, head trauma, and demographics) influence the development of substance use and its...
