Masco Corporation Environmental Specialist, Manufacturing in Mount Jackson, Virginia
Masco Cabinetry is currently seeking a qualified Environmental Specialist to help manage the day to day environmental compliance and facility environmental management system for Masco Cabinetry’s Mt Jackson & Culpeper, VA manufacturing facilities.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and maintain environmental regulatory compliance at Mt Jackson and Culpper Manufacturing site, day to day activities will involve:
Maintaining air emissions records and reporting
Storm water inspections
Management of waste disposal and maintaining records
Performing regular compliance inspections
Interfacing with facility staff and employees to rectify potential areas of noncompliance
Manage and implement improvement activities related to facility ISO 14001 environmental management system
Evaluate and implement environmental best management practices
Develop, coordinate and/or assist in environmental training programs.
Communicate with Masco Cabinetry environmental staff on compliance and ISO 14001 environmental management system status.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical, civil engineering or related field.
2 years environmental regulations and reporting experience.
Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated successful capability to resolve conflict over sensitive or complex issues.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification.
Experience with wood product manufacturing.
Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen activities and Six Sigma processes.
