Position Summary

The Project Manager in the at the Columbia School of Social Work is an integral member of the research team and is responsible for managing and implementing the PrEP for WINGS study. The Project Manager will lead the research study implementation while also working closely with community organizations to facilitate the implementation of the PrEP for WINGS intervention and control conditions. In this role, the Project Manager serves as a coordinator across Columbia University, investigators at additional academic organizations, and community partners at non-profit organizations serving people engaged in the criminal legal system in NYC.

PrEP for WINGS Study Overview: This study will implement and evaluate an m-Health syndemic intervention ("PrEP for WINGS") that aims to increase HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) initiation and adherence among women in community supervision programs (CSPs), including probation, parole, and alternative-to-incarceration (ATI) programs) in New York City (NYC), who report hazardous drinking. The study will be evaluated through a hybrid type 1 Effectiveness and Implementation randomized controlled trial.

THIS IS A FULL-TIME, 100% GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING.

Responsibilities

• Manage communications, activities, and collaboration between the PrEP for WINGS study and the Principal Investigators at Columbia University, study recruitment and intervention sites, and NYC Sexual Health Clinics (Department of Health).
• Oversee collection of all sources of study data. Work closely with investigators leading data analysis to ensure high-quality data collection and management.
• Develop investigative team study materials for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and work closely with the Principal Investigators to manage IRB correspondence.
• Develop materials for Principal Investigators needed to prepare progress reports to funders.
• Prepare presentations to community partners, scientific communities, etc.
• Oversee the preparation of reports and presentations.
• Partner with community health advocates who support intervention implementation at intervention sites.
• Manage the distribution of incentives provided to study participants. Coordinate with the School's finance administration team to facilitate the procurement of appropriate incentive methods (e.g., gift cards) and manage the tracking of incentive distribution to study participants.
• Supervise research assistants who support research activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required Minimum 3 years of experience in research and/or community-based work, serving people impacted by substance use and/or the criminal legal system.
• Direct work experience with New York State community-based health and social service providers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health, social work, or another social science field.
