Posting Summary | The Department of Africana Studies at Rutgers University-Newark invites applications for a position in Latinx Studies at the rank of Associate or full Professor to begin September 1, 2023 as part of a multi-year race, racism, and inequality cluster hire. Ph.D. required. We seek a scholar whose work considers changing meanings of Blackness across borders, colonialism, migration, and broader intersections between Latinx and Africana Studies. Additional scholarly themes that are of strong interest to the department include sexuality and public health. Applications should show evidence of an active and innovative research agenda, including publicly engaged scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Africana Studies courses in their area of expertise at the undergraduate an graduate level. This position is part of the President's Strategic Faculty Diversity Hiring initiative. Applications will start to be reviewed on October 15, 2022, and continue until the position is filled. |
