Robert Half Entry Level Accountant in Newark, New Jersey

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Accountant in the bustling city of Newark, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be primarily focused on Accounts Receivable, some Accounts Payable duties, and helping out with rating the ACH in the Banking platform. This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be expected to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Receivable tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Assist with some Accounts Payable duties as needed

• Aid in rating the ACH in the Banking platform effectively

• Conduct Journal Entries meticulously to maintain robust financial records

• Contribute to the month-end close for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Apply cash payment applications accurately and promptly

• Utilize Excel and other Microsoft applications to organize and analyze data

• Maintain strong communication skills for effective email correspondence with vendors

• Ensure all tasks are carried out in compliance with company policies and regulations.

We are looking for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, and a strong proficiency in Excel. This role requires a degree in Accounting or Finance. Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Familiarity with Excel and proficiency in creating complex formulas.

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Capacity to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

• Proficiency in using accounting software.

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.

• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

• Professional ethics and integrity.

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations.

• Experience in preparing financial reports and statements.
