Stark State College Human Resources Intern in North Canton, Ohio

The purpose of this position is to assist the Human Resources Department with daily tasks, particularly in the area of talent acquisition. Assist the Human Resources Department with a variety of tasks and initiatives including the following: Complete Form I-9s for new employees Background checks Schedule candidates for interviews Make interview panels and schedules Make interview folders Escort candidates to their interviews Student worker hiring process Use Banner to find employee information Post jobs to outside sources, such as Handshake, HigherEd Jobs Scan new hire paperwork Run Argos reports Pull new employee forms from NEOED & Employee's file And various other tasks as deemed appropriate Must have some college education and be currently enrolled in a higher education program leading to a certificate and/or degree. Prefer an individual studying within a Human Resources related field. Must have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a customer-focused approach.Must have familiarity in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Must be able to prioritize work projects.Prefer someone with a self-starter approach to completing tasks. In order to improve hiring efficiency, be more responsive, and help us find the best candidates Stark State has implemented the use of a few recruiting tools such as Qualifi and Skill Survey. Think of this like traditional phone interviews, but faster - allowing us to be more responsive to you, the applicant. Checking candidates' references for multiple top candidates provides a valuable means of verifying skills and experience represented in resumes and interviews. SkillSurvey Reference, a cloud-based, data-driven solution allows us to access relevant feedback from references provided by our candidates. The chosen references receive job-specific surveys on at least 26 critical behaviors and skills. These behavioral competencies have been scientifically studied and have been shown to correlate with work outcomes.
