Robert Half Pension Benefits Specialist in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description

We are in search of a meticulous Pension Benefits Specialist for our client's operations in the manufacturing industry, located in OAK BROOK, Illinois. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in managing employee retirement benefits, ensuring accuracy of benefits enrollments, and respond to 401K inquiries from current employee population. In addition, the Pension Benefits Specialist will reviews employee life event benefit enrollment and change requests and determines eligibility; follows up with next steps and assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes; responds to benefits inquiries from business unit HR teams and individual employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.

The individual will review employee benefit enrollment and make eligibility determinations, address employee concerns on benefits claim issues, plan changes, and legal requirements of retirement benefit plan policies. The individual will perform benefits-related calculations, analyses such as service repurchase, contribution withdrawal, and deferred retirement. They will respond to all benefits, 401(k) and pension inquiries and assist with data requests related to annual ERISA compliance and year-end SOX audits.

This position is direct offer, offers a strong compensation and benefits package and is 100% on-site with periodic flexibility to work from home.

Requirements

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Human Resources or a related field.

Two years of experience in HR with pension benefits administration is mandatory.

Pursuing CEBS, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification will be regarded favorably.

Skills and Abilities:

Candidates should possess practical knowledge of employee benefits, benefit plans, and related laws. Skills required include excellent communication abilities, strong organizational prowess, and effective time management. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software is crucial. The applicant must be comfortable interacting with a diverse range of individuals.
