THIS POSITION IS ON THE OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY CAMPUS, 36 MILES EAST OF ATLANTA.

The Program Coordinator duties are organizing, coordinating, and planning operational facets of a program and its related activities which include, but are not limited to the following: establishing long-term operational objectives, researching factors that may impact the success of the program, and working with individuals or groups to research and document program requirements in order to provide appropriate input into the development of strategic plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops work plans to accomplish program goals and objectives and monitors progress toward their achievement.

  • Conducts research and gathers information to develop various publications.

  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, grants or other written information related to the program.

  • Assists in developing and coordinating program-related conferences, conventions, or meetings.

  • Monitors expenditures and may participate in the budget planning process and prepare financial reports.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

  • Prepares operational and statistical reports.

  • Conducts training, represents the program at meetings and conferences, and networks with affiliated groups. May supervise assigned project staff, interns and/or volunteers.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

Moving beyond notions of positional leadership toward an empowered personal journey, involvement in campus programs enables students to develop leadership skills and work effectively as part of a group, preparing them to become agents of social change both during and beyond their Oxford College tenure.

The Student Center Building Operations and Programming Coordinator is a member of the Campus Life Staff and reports to the Associate Director of Student Involvement, Leadership and Transitions (SILT). The Coordinator will primarily support the SILT programs and functions outlined below. Please note, other opportunities may be identified based on the AD’s professional interests and/or Campus Life needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Center and Dooley’s Tavern Operations

  • Manage selection and onboarding of student staff

  • Provide continual training, guidance, and feedback to student employees to ensure high-quality service delivery and leadership development

  • Create work schedules and manage staff assignments to ensure adequate building and event coverage

  • Work closely with Associate Director to manage spaces and ensure proper usage of Student Center facilities

  • Manage Tavern (student programming space) reservations and develop/enforce building policies

Student Programming

  • Advise Student Activities Committee – a group of 25+ students who host dynamic campus wide, community building events

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director on Student Center programming offerings

  • Ensure smooth execution of student events by overseeing logistical arrangements, budget management, vendor communication and troubleshooting issues as they arise

  • Provide on-site support during events (including some evening and weekend events)

  • Ideate and execute evening social programming during Fall and Spring New Student Orientation

  • Support other SILT programs as needed

Social Media and Campus Outreach

  • Develop and execute a creative social media strategy to enhance the office's online presence.

  • Create engaging and visually appealing content for various social media platforms, including posts, videos, and graphics.

  • Maintain a content calendar and work collaboratively with other SILT staff to schedule and organize social media posts, ensuring timely and relevant content delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program.

  • Two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated experience supporting college students and/or worked in a higher education setting

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
