Aston Carter Bookkeeper in Princeton, Indiana

Description:

The areas of involvement will include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Journal Entries, Cash Management, monthly and annual closings, generating Financial Statements, and reconciliation of Item Ledger (sub-ledgers) to General Ledger.

Listed below are some of the main duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be

assigned as the business need arises.

• Sorts documents alphabetically; codes, logs, and reviews for accuracy; matches supporting

procurement documents to invoices and inputs into accounting system; and verifies invoices

for payment.

• Reviews purchasing, travel and personnel reimbursement documents for accuracy. This

includes assisting with company credit card system.

• Reconciles various expenditure reports to source documents; distributes and files financial

documents and reports.

• Prepares routine journal entries; reconciles entries and internal ledgers to financial reporting

system reports.

• Researches processing problems, contacts departments, vendors, and customers to resolve

problems to expedite payment, and responds to inquiries by telephone or email; refers

complex problems for solution.

• Values receiving information (purchased material) for Millennium Locations and Outside Processors. Validates and inputs information into accounting system.

• Matches in-house and outside processor information to invoices from steel mills. Reconciles any discrepancies and works with all locations, mills, and customers to resolve issues.

• Prepares and validates weekly and monthly payments to steel mills.

• Prepares and validates weekly and monthly invoices to customers.

• Assists in preparation of financial reports, such as inter-company billings and cost reports, and provides necessary information for cash flow forecasts.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
