BUSINESS CONTEXT

Ice Cream is Unilever’s biggest single category business with a global footprint across markets. Europe is Ice Cream’s largest market and includes successful brands such as Magnum, Ben & Jerry’s and Ola (heart brand). The European Ice Cream Supply Chain (SC) organization is at the core of the European Operating Model, enabling growth, innovation and cost control across the Frozen Network. There is a large cross-country factory and warehousing footprint and a sizable cost base across Materials, Production cost and Frozen Logistics costs.

Within the European Ice Cream Finance team there is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Finance Director, to lead the Supply Chain Finance team across the region. The SC Finance team plays a pivotal role - supporting strategic business decisions and providing relentless focus on the SC cash and cost performance. The finance director will lead a large cross-country team and operate in a highly dynamic and volatile environment, that is constantly evolving with transformative operational processes and business strategies towards transformation of the supply chain.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The SCF Director role is to lead for gross margin improvement for the Category, landing transformation programs across the supply chain network, driving operational excellence and cost stewardship across the factories and warehouses and most importantly engage, develop, and build capabilities of a large team of finance talent. This role is the co-pilot for navigating the long-term Category Supply Chain strategy in the region and is partnering the CFO and Supply Chain VP of Europe Ice Cream.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSABILITIES BE?

• Business Partner to the SC VP for Europe for Ice cream, CFO Europe, and Ice Cream EU Leadership Team

• Run the Financial Planning & Analysis process for Supply Chain Costs and deliver Cost per Ton improvement and forecast

• Drive business decisions through accurate Financial Forecasting and transfer pricing

• Own and drive performance across entire Supply Chain P&L and Cash delivery

• Create, own, and drive large value impact programs (Savings, Network Transformation, Run to Standard, Complexity reduction) to keep the financial growth engine running

• Manage and develop a broad team of SC Finance Business Partners across Europe

• Support end-to-end supply chain strategy including long / short-term value agenda

• Hold governance on controls across the SC Network in Europe

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong knowledge in (Supply Chain) Finance accounting and Capital investments (Capex)

• Strong business and commercial acumen (E2E thinking and value focus)

• Outstanding ability to simplify the complex and formulate business strategy/priorities

• High degree of flexibility, ability to understand and pivot between topics

• Creative and innovative with high level of curiosity and courage

• Strong knowledge of key finance processes, systems, controls, roles & responsibilities

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 15 years’ experience in Finance Business Partnering with exposure to Supply Chain and Category environments, and key experiences on control and stewardship

• FMCG or comparable industry experience at Finance Director level

• Proven track record of unlocking value through transformation

• Proven track record in managing and influencing large, complex and senior set of stakeholders in devising strategy and driving business performance

• Interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

• Ability to build and manage large teams

• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands and priorities
