Guthrie Prgm Mgr, System Quality Ops - Quality Outcomes - Full Time in Sayre, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, this role is responsible for overseeing the progress of quality department projects and goals, the meaningful integration of quality metrics in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for the purposes of data transparency and optimized performance, and is an important central coordinator for activities owned by the Quality and Patient Safety Teams.

Education, License, & Cert

Master’s degree in related field required.

Experience

• A minimum of 3 years healthcare experience.

• Ability to organize and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing is required.

• Computer experience with data collection tools (Excel, Powerpoint, SharePoint, Office) is required. Experience with PowerBI tools is preferred.

• Ability to comprehend and explain quality data in order to educate providers and leadership staff required.

• Organize, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet reporting deadlines.

• Maintain accurate records.

• Operate PC and other software as required to perform job duties.

• Excellent interpersonal relations is required.

Essential Functions

  1. Oversee the progress, organization, and management of Quality departmental projects that report to the Chief Quality Officer (to include Performance Improvement, Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, Regulatory and Informatics).

  2. Maintains close connections with all internal Quality department team leads and produces regular high level summaries of progress on specific projects. Similarly forges and maintains close connections with project or committee leads that are external to the Quality Dept but who are participating in the ownership of Quality Department activities and goals.

  3. Assist with the identification of potential areas for improvement within publicly- reported metrics (particularly CMS and Leapfrog metrics) and participates and/or coordinates initiatives as appropriate for improvement.

  4. Assures data integrity and regular reporting for internal and external databases utilized by the Quality Dept Teams.

  5. Closely monitors accuracy of Quality Intranet website and Scorecards, PowerBI charts, and other reports and presentations from the Quality Dept.

  6. Facilitates the formal reporting of departmental projects and programs especially as they relate to system and fiscal year goals. Establishes and develops standard reporting procedures and powerpoint presentations as requested.

  7. Oversees annual completion of the Hospital Leapfrog Survey and connects with Leadership at each Hospital relative to integrity of the performance documented on the Survey.

  8. Assists with projecting financial impact to the organization in relation to achieved or underachieved goals. As needed, works collaboratively with clinical, financial, and operational leadership to assess.

  9. Provides education to providers, administration, and employees regarding overview of Quality Department projects, activities, goals and data requirements.

  10. Educates and participates in strategic planning for quality department programs and projects as directed.

  11. Prepares reports summarizing activities and performance metrics related to Quality department improvement initiatives.

  12. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

  13. Maintains confidentiality.
