Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of the Plant Director, perform duties related to the training, evaluating, and supporting of all Statesville employees in their professional development.

  • Annually review and coordinate the updating of the training needs & assessment for all employees.

  • Oversee the New Hire Orientation process; present training as required; review and evaluate orientation for continuous improvement.

  • Coordinates and administers site-specific training programs for employee development for effective training.

  • Evaluate and offer suggestions concerning work Practices for greater effectiveness.

  • Coordinates with Training owners (SME) to develop, update, and schedule annual iCare and other compliance training for all Statesville employees.

  • Administrator of the Training Database.

  • Coordinate with the office administrator on maintaining employee training files.

  • Report progress of training programs and training hours.

  • Maintain a Training Library for employee use within CPro.

  • Organize and set-up specific offsite training needs as requested by department managers and approved by the Plant Director.

  • Represents site for internal and external audits of the training systems.

  • Coordinates with EHS Manager in planning annual safety training, including required OSHA training for all site personnel, with EHS representative.

  • Work with HR and employee supervisor to create career progression for employees.

  • Conduct Training Gap Assessments on all shifts, and work with shift supervisor to develop training plan to close gaps in skills.

  • Ensure new processes and procedures are effectively communicated and appropriate required documents are obtained.

  • Required to work on day and night shifts (minimum one rotation per month on nights) to deliver training and perform Training Gap Assessments and needed audits.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or higher preferred. “Train the Trainer” certification or other training certifications are required.

  • Experience : Previous experience in non-woven/textile manufacturing operations is required. Previous experience as a trainer is required. Public speaking skills are required. A basic understanding of OSHA & Berry Global Safety requirements is required. OSHA 10-hour training certification is preferred. A basic understanding of ISO 9001-2015 and the quality standards for Berry Global is required. ISO, or quality training certifications, are preferred.

  • Physical and cognitive requirements : Work is performed in a combination of plant and office environment with frequent contact with others. It requires prolonged standing and sitting, and frequent climbing, bending, stooping, and stretching, manual dexterity, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and the use of office equipment. Demonstration of leadership ability and an understanding of the basics of non-woven manufacturing processes. Must have forklift driving skills. The ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
