The Scientist, QC Bioassay for Cytiva is responsible for driving the establishment of our QC bioassay function.

This position is part of the Pre-Clinical Services team for Cytiva's Nanomedicine business located in Vancouver, Canada and will be onsite. At Cytiva our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do:

  • Draft CQV documents, SOPs and methods, and helping with equipment procurement, validation, and maintenance.

  • Liase with the Quality Assurance department and members of the QC team to apply GxP compliance requirements to bioassay testing.

  • Support the development and transfer of bioassay techniques (including FACS, ELISA, dPCR, qPCR, etc.) into the QC group to enable routine product testing.

  • Oversee material & consumable inventories to ensure sufficient supplies and uninterrupted lab operations.

  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement both in the wetlab (assay controls and metrics for robustness) and to the overall function of the group.

    Who you are:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences is required and relevant discipline and at least 3 years industry experience in Bioassay development and testing, ideally done in a QC lab setting.

  • A strong working knowledge of GxP regulations in required.

  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills is required.

  • A proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues is required.

  • A collaborative person with an analytical capability, effective communication, and time management skills and preferred.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    · Experience with testing and characterization of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and/or liposomal drug products

    · W orking knowledge of and experience in the development of genetic medicines

    · P roficiency interfacing with scientific software (Gen5, FACS, FloJo, PRISM etc)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 - 110,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and retirement benefits to eligible employees.
