As a Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems (C4ISR) Section Leader, you will oversee Systems Engineers, who work as part of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate, debug, and test next generation communication systems. These System Engineers deliver innovative solutions and technical contributions that includes program estimation, program planning, system development, requirements development, integration & test, and execution in a field deployment environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead and build a Systems Engineering team including:
Recruit, retain, train, recognize, develop, and assign team members as appropriate to meet business area needs
Develop individual and group goals and objectives
Communicate flow-down
Collect and provide performance feedback
Mentor careers by development of career and training plans
Ensure group members adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies, and vision
Provide direct support to programs about 50% of your time including:
Program assignments
Track program execution through metrics and technical reviews
Provide support to program proposal cost estimates by developing or reviewing Basis of Estimates that including quantified risks and opportunities
Participate in independent design reviews, architecture review boards and other technical reviews
Develop a strategy to support business area growth that includes your recommendations on how to build and sustain the systems engineering workforce and to incorporate industry best practices including MBSE and new tools and technologies to enhance effectiveness

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. Since the majority of the engineers that will be reporting to you will be 100% on site, it is expected that a majority of your time will be on site to effectively manage and support the team.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Must be eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance up to a Secret level
Engineering background and leadership skills with experience in multiple aspects of the Defense (DoD) product development lifecycle (i.e. requirements analysis, architecture design/development, integration, verification, sell-off, security accreditation, and maintenance)
Experience planning and executing medium to large system design programs
Proven performance management, mentoring, coaching, and communication skills
Ability to formulate a strategic vision and define and implement action plans to achieve goals in a changing environment
Experience developing/reviewing technical and cost artifacts for new business activities
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Hold an active DoD Secret Clearance
Functional Management Leadership experience (i.e. performance management, staffing)
Advanced technical degree or certification relevant to engineering, technical, or business focus
Experience designing and testing advanced communication systems
Experience interfacing with internal and external customer
Experience supporting Trade Studies, Con Ops development, Cost Account Management, engineering initiatives and agile process application
Experience with MBSE using SysML
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
